Gemmotherapy - WHat is it & How it Works?

Gemmotherapy – What is it & How Does it Help?

You know about homeopathy and some of the remedies of it. But I recently discovered a new method that is a branch off of homeopathy called gemmotherapy, and from my experience, it is definitely effective. So below I will explore what is gemmotherapy and how does it help?

What is Gemmotherapy?

It is a modern homeopathic method of biotherapeutic drainage using the extracts of various trees and shrubs. They take the raw material of the buds, emerging shoots, seeds, rootlets and saps at the peak time of the plant’s annual germination. This makes it so the material is at its maximum potency and concentration of essential nutrients. Another term for gemmotherapy is ‘Phytotherapy’ meaning, the use of plant-derived medications in the treatment and prevention of disease. ¹

Origin of Gemmotherapy

Founded in the late 1950s, the practice of this method is fairly new. Discovered in Belgium by Pol Henry a Homeopath and physician. It is a natural therapy that uses plant material to cleanse and detox the body while nourishing it simultaneously. Biotherapeutic Drainage

  • Cognitive Dysfunction
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Digestive issues
  • Respiratory illness
  • Arthritis and inflammation
  • much more

What is the difference between Homeopathy and Gemmotherapy?

Homoeopathy treatment

The concept of homeopathy is that it relies on your own body to heal and to treat the patient as a whole. It is derived from natural substances that come from plants (not young plants such as gemmotherapy does), minerals, and/or animals. It works on the physical and mental constitution of the patient from the inside out.

The practitioner attempts to match the pattern of the patient’s symptoms to the pattern of a single remedy. Then the patient is given a super diluted amount in microdoses, to slowly kick-start your immunity and begin the healing process.

Gemmotherapy treatment

The application of homeopathic drainage using herbal remedies made from the buds or shoots of young plants.  It is usually mixed with glycerin and water or with glycerin, water and alcohol. The dilution generally is much less than homeotherapy. Gemmotherapy remedies have drainage properties that cleanse the cells of toxins. Similar to UNDA drops.

It is best to speak with a qualified natural health practitioner to determine dosage and application. They may have a plan in place for you that requires a different dosage based on your body and have a protocol for you to take. This could be a combination of gemmotherapy extracts combined with other modalities.

How did Gemmotherapy Work for Me?

I honestly can say that trying this protocol has done wonders for me. Of course I spoke with a licensed naturopathic to run diagnostics and to build a treatment plan. I was suffering from severe adrenal fatigue and anxiety for many years. My protocol at first was to:

  1. cleanse my body, organs, cells of all the built up toxins that I have accumulated throughout my life.
  2. For 21 days I avoided refined sugar, wheat and dairy.
  3. During those 21 days, I took my biotherapeutic drainage kit.  This cleansed my liver, kidneys and adrenal glands and helped restore them.
  4. Then I started using UNDA drops specifically for my liver, kidneys and nervous system.
  5. Then finally I started to take Ribes Nigrum every two days, 20 drops a day.

Now when I start to feel brain fog, anxiety or stress I take Ribes Nigrum as needed. It does the trick, I don’t need anything else after going through the protocol. But based on your previous medical history and symptoms you may need a different protocol, everyone is different. Now I know what I need to use and I just purchase it online rather than going through a naturopathic doctor which can be very costly.

If you have other symptoms you should consult with your doctor prior to taking any substances mentioned here.
